“French Sculptured Gel” Rules

  1. Competitors must polish one hand of the model with a red cream GEL polish OR COLOR GEL only. No frost or shimmers allowed.
  2. These are traditional competitions with French style pink & white gel nails to be created. Cover pink, transparent pink, clear and white gel products are allowed. These are NOT salon style nails. The nails are expected to be thin and have a ccurve in the structure. Smile lines are to be created.
  3. Total time allowed 3 hours (180 minutes)
  4. The competitor must use traditional hard gel to apply the nails and must use forms.
  5. No tips allowed
  6. All gel sealers of any kind are allowed onto the nails.
  7. Gel sealers and gel topcoats on the exposed pink and white gel application is allowed to create shine
  8. Cuticle oil is allowed.
  9. Water and soap may also be used in finishing.
  10. Competitors ARE ALLOWED to pre-size or cut the forms prior to the start of the competition. Doubling of forms is allowed as long as they are  cut in any manner and are attached on the paper. Metal supports are allowed as can be added to the form prior to the competition
  11. No glue is allowed in the Gel sculptured competition.
  12. Electric files are allowed, but competitor must supply their own machine, electrical cords and adaptors. 13. Electric file oil and buffing creams used with Chamois style buffers are allowed both by hand or machine.
  13. Pinching tools, c-curve stick and all types of tools used to create a proper structure are allowed
  14. Division I: one hand may be applied with the competitors choice of Clear or Pink hard gel (red gel polish or color gel must be applied on this hand), the other hand must be applied with Pink and White hard gel to create the appearance of a French style nail. No use of gel polish or color gel is allowed to create white application. Clear gel is allowed to be used to create the nails structure.
  15. Divisions 2 & 3: the competitor must apply both hands with Pink and White hard gel to create the appearance of a French style nail. No use of gel polish or color gel is allowed to create the white application. One hand will be judged for the smile line application and the other hand must have red gel polish or color gel applied to cover the application. Clear gel is allowed to create the nails structure.
  16. All general rules apply to this competition.
